Bon Om Touk, also known as “the Water Festival,” is an annual Cambodian celebration that takes place primarily in the Cambodian capital city of Phnom Penh but also in the city of Angkor.
In 2021, it’s being held on November 18th, 19th and 20th. Heralding the end of the rainy season and the coming of the Harvest moon, the Water & Moon Festival. The Water Festival is the biggest tradition here in Cambodia, and usually people gather for big boat races, illuminated floats , a moon salutation ”Sampeas Preah” and eating of special rice made with banana or coconut juice “Auk Ambok’’.
